Questions about your lifts?
Talk to an engineer about maintenance, repairs, examinations or a lift that is giving you trouble.
Common questions.
Practical answers about this course and its topics.
How do I know if a lift needs modernising?
Rising breakdowns, obsolete parts, poor levelling and repeated defects on LOLER reports are common signs. An engineering survey sets out which components need attention and when.
Does modernisation mean replacing the whole lift?
Not always. Many projects replace the controller, drive, doors or fixtures while keeping sound items such as the guide rails. The right scope depends on the lift’s condition and the building’s plans.
