This notice explains how Durant Lifts Limited uses personal information when you enquire about our services, including through our Facebook and Instagram maintenance enquiry forms. It applies whether you own one building or manage a portfolio.
Who is responsible for your information?
Durant Lifts Limited is responsible for the enquiry information we receive and use. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 14592152.
Information we collect
We collect the details you provide: your name, company, email address, telephone number, role, approximate number of buildings needing maintenance, renewal or review timing and any service areas or other requirements you choose to share. We also keep correspondence about your enquiry.
For Meta lead forms, we receive your submitted answers and information identifying the form, advertisement and submission. Meta may prefill contact details from your profile; you can review these before submitting. You do not need to list every building address or provide sensitive personal information.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond by telephone or email, understand your requirements, arrange discussions or surveys, prepare quotations and keep a record of the enquiry. Our legitimate interests are responding to requested business enquiries and managing potential customer relationships. Where you enquire about a contract with us in your personal capacity, we may also use information to take steps at your request before entering that contract.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter or unrelated marketing. Providing information is voluntary, but we need contact details and enough information about your requirements to respond.
Who can receive it?
Relevant Durant Lifts staff may access your enquiry. Service providers supporting our email, IT hosting and enquiry records may process information on our behalf. We use Microsoft services for business email. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations or legal claims.
If you use a Facebook or Instagram form, Meta processes information under its own privacy policy, as well as making your submission available to us. Meta's handling of account information, advertising and platform activity is described there.
International processing
Meta and Microsoft operate internationally, so their services may involve processing outside the UK. Contact us if you would like information about the providers and transfer safeguards applicable to our handling of your enquiry.
How long we keep information
We retain enquiry information for as long as needed to handle your request and relevant follow-up. In deciding how long it is needed, we consider whether discussions or quotations are still active, your expected contract renewal timing, whether you become a customer, and any applicable legal, accounting or dispute requirements. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted or anonymised. You can contact us to request deletion or to tell us that you no longer wish to pursue an enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or transfer of information. These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions.
You can object to our use of your personal information based on legitimate interests. Tell us your circumstances by emailing info@durantlifts.co.uk. You can also ask us to stop further enquiry follow-up.
Where processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. We may need to confirm your identity before responding to a rights request.

This privacy page does not load analytics or advertising scripts or set cookies. Our hosting provider processes technical request information to deliver and protect the page. Facebook, Instagram and other pages or services you visit have their own settings and privacy information.
